Coming to the holiday market in August following an extensive refurbishment, Toadsmoor House unfolds across four floors of generous, light-filled rooms behind its Victorian facade. High ceilings, sash windows and original period features sit alongside a calm, considered interior palette, with living and dining spaces designed to bring the whole party together. The property features seven bedrooms to retreat to at the end of the day, each with its own private bathroom.
Three distinct living spaces sit at the heart of the house: a garden-facing lounge for congregating, a formal living room with deep wrap-around sofas, and a snug and movie room with books, board games and a games console. The dining room seats the whole party at one long table, served by a fully equipped kitchen and a dedicated drinks bar with drinks fridge.

Sleeping arrangements
Bedrooms 1 to 5 can each be made up as a super-king double, twins or a triple, making them well suited to couples, families and larger mixed groups. The lower ground bunk room sleeps up to six. These sleeping arrangements ensure that even at full occupancy, no one needs to share a bed.
For guests requiring an accessible bedroom, the snug converts into a seventh bedroom with a king-sized sofa bed and private en-suite. It benefits from step-free access from the driveway, making it a suitable option for wheelchair users and less mobile guests.

The surroundings
Toadsmoor House sits at the mouth of the Toadsmoor Valley in Brimscombe, one of the chain of villages lining the Golden Valley between Stroud and Chalford. This is the steeper, more wooded side of the Cotswolds, shaped by five distinct valleys of beech woods, mill ponds and canal towpaths. Quietly tucked away from the busier honeypot villages further north, the area retains a quieter, more natural character.
A much-loved village pub minutes from the house, serving local beers and hearty food with a weekly changing set menu. A popular choice for the first evening.

The canalside taproom of Stroud's renowned organic brewery is in Brimscombe itself, with craft beers, wood-fired pizzas, sharing plates and regular live music.
In Brimscombe
A two-AA-rosette restaurant in a Grade II listed manor on the hillside above Brimscombe, with panoramic views across the Five Valleys and seasonal kitchen-garden cooking. An excellent choice for a celebration dinner.
On the hillside above
One of the most distinctive market towns in the Cotswolds, independent, creative and proudly local. Its award-winning Saturday farmers' market is widely regarded as one of the best in Britain.
10 min drive
The Toadsmoor Valley climbs straight from the house towards Bisley, past mill ponds and beech woods. Nearby, Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons offer expansive views; the Slad Valley is Laurie Lee country, and the Cotswold Way runs along the escarpment.
From the doorstep
Westonbirt Arboretum, Cirencester, Painswick and its Rococo Garden, Gloucester's cathedral and docks, Regency Cheltenham and Bath are all comfortable day trips from the house.

Check-in is available from 4pm, and check-out is by 10am. Self-service check-in is via lockbox, with full arrival details provided in the guest portal before your stay.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, at no extra charge. Please keep dogs to the ground and lower ground floors, out of the bedrooms and off the furniture, and never leave them unattended in the house.
Children of all ages are welcome. The bunk room is a favourite with younger guests. Children of an appropriate age may use the wood-fired hot tub but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Further guidance is provided in the health and safety guidelines.
There is step-free access from the driveway to the ground floor, where The Snug bedroom (with wide doorways), its en-suite and a WC are located. This room is well suited to wheelchair users and less mobile guests. Please note the house is arranged over four floors with period staircases, and the kitchen and dining room are on the lower ground floor, reached by stairs.
Events, parties and celebrations are welcome by prior arrangement. Please share your plans when booking. Private chefs and catering can also be arranged on request. Out of respect for our neighbours in the valley, we ask that outdoor noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm.
The hot tub is wood-fired, sunken into the greenery of the garden for long soaks and late evenings under the stars. Full usage and safety guidance is provided in the guest portal.
Yes. Private off-road parking for five cars within the grounds, with an EV charging point on site.
Stroud station is a six-minute taxi ride from the house, with direct trains to London Paddington in around 1 hour 27 minutes plus connections to Gloucester, Cheltenham and beyond. Brimscombe's pubs, the canal towpath and the Toadsmoor Valley walks are all reachable on foot.
Hotel-quality linens, towels, and toiletries including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all provided, along with hairdryers in every bedroom. The kitchen comes fully equipped with cookware, tableware and glassware for 21, plus a coffee machine. A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
A refundable security deposit of GBP 750 is taken prior to arrival. The house is strictly non-smoking and non-vaping indoors; smoking is permitted outside only.
